just finished reading 'let the great world spin' by colum mccann. nothing i can really say will explain how good it is. its about nyc in the 1970s, stunningly gentle and hopeful. i can't wait to read his other books.

sxsw in austin was great. i got to see over 20 free shows of bands i like. the top ones were the xx, the ruby suns, warpaint, the hood internet, washed out, surfer blood and the octopus project. most importantly, i got to see morgan and spend some quality time with mr. chumpybear.started planting my garden on tuesday. i will hopefully get all my seeds and plants in the ground on saturday. spinach, swiss chard, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, garlic chives, corn. fingers crossed they grow.
